We welcome your interest in joining our voluntary group at AM-EN center. We work with people with disabilities, providing riding therapy jointly with other alternative and conventional therapies.
Our center is located in Tumbaco, only 20 min from Quito(Ecuador´s capital) in a beautiful valley next to the river San Pedro. At our center we have nice and comfortable dormitories for our interns, a covered riding arena, a therapy house, office and cafeteria.
WORKING SCHEDULE:
From Monday through Friday we offer therapies to people with disabilities until noon. In the afternoon private riding lessons are offered to cover the maintenence costs of Foundation AM-EN.
INTERN´S RESPONSABILITIES:
Depending on the intern´s expirience and interests, the tasks to be fulfilled at Foundation AM-EN are the following:
-Cleaning and caretaking of horses
-Cleaning of stables
-Cleaning of atelaje
-Training of horses (Depending on intern´s experience)
-Caretaking of gardens
-Watering of riding arena
-Assistance during riding therapy (Walking next to horses, looking after patient o guiding the horse)
-Assistance in the creation of micro enterprises with mothers of children with disabilities and marketing of goods
-Assistance in office work
-Assistance in fund raising (organization of events, public relations, etc.)
-Assistance in the cafeteria

If you wish to stay longer than 6 months, we will send you the necessary documents for you to start processing your intern visa. Up to 6 months it is possible to carry out your internship with your tourist vista.
